Arnell Auto Group’s Easy Guide to Tire Care Take care of your tires and they will take care of you. Proper tire care and safety is simple and easy. The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) recommends taking 5 minutes every month and before every long car trip to check all your tires, including the spare. Just remember to “Be Tire Smart- Play Your P.A.R.T.: Pressure, Alignment, Rotation, Tread.” Pressure: We’ve said it many times, but we can’t stress it enough: under inflation is a tire’s number one enemy! It results in unnecessary tire stress, irregular wear, loss of control and accidents. A tire can lose up to half its tire pressure and not even appear flat. Alignment: A hard jolt from striking a curb or hitting a pothole can throw your front end out of alignment and damage your tires. Have the automotive experts at the Arnell Auto Group periodically inspect your alignment to ensure your vehicle is properly aligned. Rotation: When you get your tires rotated regularly, you are promoting uniform tire wear which can increase tire life and help prevent issues like tire noise and the vehicle pulling to one side. Unless your vehicle owner’s manual has a specific recommendation, the guideline for tire rotation is approximately every 5,000 miles. Tread: Measure it. Inspect it. Advanced and unusual wear can reduce the treads ability to grip the road. Have your tires checked for uneven wear and signs of damage. The Arnell Auto Group is located at exit 22A just off the I 94 expressway in Burns Harbor IN. Buyers travel to Arnell Chevrolet and Arnell Kia for the best selection, service and prices on new and used vehicles. We are a family run business that is dedicated to serving our community.
